ROUGH TERRAIN

L.A. Crane & Hoist Inspections provides unbiased third party inspections for Rough Terrain. Rough Terrains are designed to maneuver over many different types of surfaces easily. It's built on a body with four large rubber tires that can keep traction on rugged terrain or uneven ground. These cranes can handle various terrains, making it useful for tasks on other job sites. Rough Terrain Cranes are more compact than other cranes, making it easier for them to fit into tight spaces on a job site. One of the main benefits of a Rough Terrain Crane is that they can pick up their load and carry it with them on the job site.

As Rough Terrain Cranes operate on uneven and rough landscapes, it necessary that they are performing at the highest level. We provide a comprehensive inspection to ensure everything is working as it should. Our certified inspectors are trained and qualified to provide our clients with unbiased third party inspections on various types of Cranes, Rigging, and Personnel lifting equipment as required by the O.S.H.A. and A.S.M.E. Industry standards. Our staff will maintain all records and provide the client with a copy of the annual inspection records and a full detailed report of any discrepancies found during an inspection.

OUR ROUGH TERRAIN INSPECTIONS COVER:

  • Inspect for cracked, deformed or corroded members of the crane structure and the entire boom 

  • Inspect for loose nuts, bolts including turntable bolts, or rivets. Inspect for cracked or worn sheaves and hoist drums

  • Inspect for worn, cracked, or distorted parts such as pins, turntable bearings, shafts, gears, rollers, and locking devices

  • Inspect operational aids

  • inspect for cracks along with the frame of the machine

  • inspect all electrical components

  • Inspect for excessive wear of brake and driveshafts

  • inspect outrigger beams, jacks, and pads "floats" for proper function and damage

  • Check for lack of performance and compliance of with safety requirements of power plants 

  • Inspection of load hooks shall include visual inspection for distortion, wear, or damage

  • Check for malfunctioning travel steering braking and locking devices

  • Check for excessively worn or damaged tires
